Sarah Morpeth - Papercuts and Artist BooksSarah Morpeth - Papercuts  Sarah Morpeth makes works in paper, often within a book format, incorporating cutting, stitch, paint and print.  Sarah says, ‘The things that drive me are many and various; I find inspiration in my obsession with British films of the Forties, in poetry, philosophy, science fiction and stories. I am also addicted to stationery - to labels, tags and postcards.  Visually the imagery I use often comes from nature and the landscape that surrounds me.  I find there is usually a considerable conceptual aspect to what I do - but I don’t need it to be obvious to the viewer.  I value not only the conceptual but also skill in making and aesthetic qualities.’  Originally from Newcastle, Sarah spent ten years living and working in London as a solicitor, before changing direction to study for an embroidery degree at MMU from which she graduated in 2008.  Now based in Northumberland, she is inspired by the rural landscape which surrounds her
